With the birth of the Devils of the Gothic Quarter in1984 begins the custom of conducting "correfos" for the Feast of Sant Roc. Currently the Correfoc of Sant Roc is celebrated on the last night of the feast, usually on Sunday or on the day of Sant Roc, and before the traditional fireworks.
In the Correfoc, which is preceded by a drums performance in the same square by Percúdium, the percussion group of the Plaça Nova, all the fire groups of the Plaça Nova participate: the Devils of the Gothic Quarter, the Víbria of Barcelona and the Arpella of the Gothic Quarter, and depending on the year, some other group of fire of the Old City or from the rest of the country. The Correfoc begins at the Plaça Nova and normally wanders through the streets de la Palla, baixada de Santa Eulàlia, Sant Sever, street and square of Sant Felip Neri, streets of Montjuïc del Bisbe, Bisbe and finishes at Plaça Nova with fire spectacles of all the participants, giving way to the ignition of the fireworks castle.
