The Feast Association of the Plaça Nova during these last fifteen years of the twenty-first century with the Feast of Sant Roc, the oldest street celebration of the city, have commemorated the 650 years of the Plaça Nova (2005), the centennial of the Green Flag (2003), of the "Cucanya" (2004), the centennial Giants of Sant Roc de la Plaça Nova (2006), the dwarf Cu-cut (2007), and have generated or renewed new and old traditions: concerts by emerging groups, the Raising of the Flag, Cu-cut on the donkey... A feast and traditions that, without forgetting its past, is not afraid to look to the future, which is why in 2007 the "Children League of the Plaza Nueva" was formed, with the Little Eagle of Barcelonina (2002), the child giants Pippo (2007) and Gal·la (2011) and girls and boys who are the best guarantee of continuity of tradition, the feast and the Association.
In 2014 - 2015 the Feast Association of the Plaça Nova celebrates its 425 years of existence with the Feast of Sant Roc. The "4 ¼" has represented a series of celebrations, which include the major exhibition "4¼. 425 years of Sant Roc of Barcelona. From city vowe to popular feast at Plaça Nova" with which the Feast Association of the Plaça Nova has shown its long history, of the feast, the neighborhood and its residents, and to encourage awareness of the huge legacy that it represents for the city. The celebration has continuity with other festive events, conferences and exhibitions such as "The Feast Lived" or "The Lost Neighborhood", that show the unchanging placanovian spirit that can be found in the hidden sites of the city.
The Feast Association of the Plaça Nova and the Feast of Sant Roc of the Plaça Nova enter the twenty-first century totally renewed and with respect for the responsibility that more than four centuries of tradition and the thousands of women and men who built a neighborhood and a city represents. With the foundation of the Feast Association of the Plaça Nova the main objective of its members was, and is, the maintenance, study and diffusion of Sant Roc as tradition and intangible heritage of the entire city of Barcelona, of the tradition, the feast and the Barcelona spirit of the plaçanovins and plaçanovines.
