Since 1982, with the christening of the Centennial Giants of Sant Roc of Plaça Nova, the feast celebrates the Gathering and Dance of Giants. The Gathering takes place on the evening of August 15 and involves, as hosts, the New Giants of Plaça Nova, the Child Giants of Plaça Nova, the dwarf Cu-cut and the grallers La Pessigolla and, as guests, all the groups of the Old Town and some from the rest of the country.
The Gathering is structured as follows: the "plantada" (planting), the parade -usually through the Plaça Nova, the streets dels Arcs, Cucurulla, Portaferrissa, la Rambla, Cardenal Casañas, the squares of Pi and of sant Josep Oriol and the streets del Pi, Boters and plaça Nova-, the dance of giants, the hot chocolate treat, and the evening dance with traditional music for everybody who participates in the closing of the Gathering.
